  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs mixed with 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly steam the broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots until just tender; pat dry.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux. Gradually add milk while whisking continuously until thickened. Stir in cheeses, garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until melted and creamy.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer the vegetables evenly and pour the cheese sauce over them. Gently fold to coat everything.
  5. Top with breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
