Ingredients
- 360g thin-cut sirloin steaks
- 1 small egg
- 4 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
- 1 medium onion
- 1 red chili
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 6 tbsp caster sugar
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
Instructions
- Slice the sirloin steaks into thin strips and coat them in beaten egg.
- Mix cornflour, salt, black pepper, and white pepper with the beef until well coated.
- Heat sunflower oil in a pan over high heat and fry the beef in batches until crispy.
- Remove beef and drain excess oil on kitchen paper.
- In the same pan, sauté sliced onion, chili, ginger, and garlic before adding sauce ingredients (vinegar, soy sauce, tomato puree, sugar, ketchup, sweet chili).
- Return crispy beef to the pan, mix well with the sauce until heated through.
