  • 61/2 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Slice plums in half, remove pits, and place in a large stockpot with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain juice using a colander followed by a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, allowing it to drain for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Return approximately 5-½ cups of juice to the pot and add fruit pectin and butter. Bring to a rolling boil.
  4. Add sugar all at once, boil for exactly one minute, then skim off any foam.
  5. Ladle hot jelly into clean jars and allow to cool before sealing.
