  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until golden brown.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger; stir for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in pureed tomatoes; cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in garam masala, turmeric powder, chili powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, and cinnamon; toast for 2 minutes.
  5. Add cubed beef, coating well with the spice mixture.
  6. Pour in enough water or broth to cover the beef. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
