Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté diced green bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes until softened; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix until well combined.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan. Layer with 4 slices of provolone cheese followed by the sautéed veggies. Cover with remaining meat mixture and seal edges.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes. Add remaining provolone cheese on top during the last 5 minutes until melted.
