- 1 large egg

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir in cold milk until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter on two-thirds of it. Fold the unbuttered third over the middle and then fold again.
- Chill wrapped dough for 30 minutes, then roll out and fold twice more.
- Cut into triangles and place chocolate batons at the base; roll into crescents.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush croissants with egg wash and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
